To everyone who attended the event on Friday, and everyone who participated in our online auction and supported this fundraising event, silent auction donors, and event sponsors - thank you! The silent auction raised over $10,000! All funds raised from this event support scholarships for students enrolling in science programs at EUREKA! and out in the field, and free programs in the community like the bilingual, bicultural AmiGOs! mobile preschool in Clifton!
This year, our Dinner with a Scientist will feature Johanna Varner, PhD. Dr. Varner is an Associate Professor of Biology at CMU where she teaches mammalogy, animal behavior, ecology and evolution, and more. She will share highlights of her research on the small but mighty pika, an alpine mammal that may be sensitive to climate change, as well as ways that the community can help monitor pikas in Colorado.
