Where is parking?

EUREKA! has designated parking spots in the parking lot we share with New Life Church across Kennedy Ave. to the South of the building.

What ages are appropriate for visiting?

We welcome inquiring minds of all ages! There’s something to explore for everyone. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

How much time do we need to visit?

The average visit to EUREKA! is 2 hours. Many stay longer! Admission is good for the entire day so if you decide to go out and eat lunch, you're welcome to return at no additional fee!

What can we do there?

We are hands-on! EUREKA! McConnell Science Museum is filled with interactive displays and exhibits that cover many science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) topics. Students can tweak, push, pull, drive, spin and more, all in an effort to better understand the world in which we live.

Can I drop my child off?

Our policy is that children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult when visiting EUREKA!. If you don't have time to visit our space with your child, sign him or her up for a camp! They're a blast!

Is EUREKA! part of the school district or university?

EUREKA! is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that was founded in 1999 by John McConnell. We operate with a small staff and large group of dedicated volunteers. As an independent organization, we are close partners with Colorado Mesa University, Mesa County Valley School District 51, and other local nonprofits in our community.

Accessibility

Where is handicap parking?

There are 2 handicap spaces near EUREKA!'s main entrance stairs on Kennedy, by the stop sign facing 7th St.

Where are wheelchair ramps?

There are 2 ramps to access EUREKA!. The main entrance ramp is along Kennedy towards 7th and back to entrance. The second ramp enters into the EUREKA! playground. To access the museum from this entrance, please call the front desk during public museum hours and a staff member will come open the door.

What is the maximum number of students I can bring on a field trip?

EUREKA! can accommodate up to 120 students on a field trip.

What is the structure of a field trip?

Field trips are booked in two-hour slots and may or may not include a lab activity. If an activity is requested, an additional fee is applied. Programs

What is the cancellation policy for program registration?

Prior to camp, we work hard to ensure all materials are prepared and ordered for all camp participants. Therefore, refunds can only be issued up to two weeks before the start date of the camp. Cancellations made prior to the two week window will receive a full refund, minus the standard processing fees (5% of the total transaction). We can not partially refund a camp due to illness. Credits for cancelled camps will no longer be issued, regardless of cancellation date.

For Environmental Institute Overnight Programs, refunds can only be issued up to four weeks (unless otherwise stated) before the date of the camp and will incur the same 5% standard processing fee.

To cancel registration, log into your dashboard account, select the event and then click "Unregister." Questions, email info@eurekasciencemuseum.org

How does the waitlist work?

Our program waitlists are first-come, first-served. When a spot becomes available, an email goes out to everyone on the waitlist at the same time. You must log on to the dashboard and register for the program to reserve the available space. If you log on to register and are unable to - someone else has already registered, the camp is full again, and you will remain on the waitlist.

Are immunizations required for students to attend EUREKA! programs?

Yes - EUREKA! requires immunization records for all student campers. If your child attends school in Colorado, you do not need to upload records. If your student does not attend school in Colorado, or is homeschooled, you must upload immunization records in order to register.

EUREKA! will accept medical exemptions for immunizations (MMR, Tetanus, Polio, Hep A/B) upon submission of the medical exemption form reviewed and signed by a physician (MD or DO). All non-medical exemptions will not be accepted.

My student needs medication during the camp day, what forms need to be completed?

Prior to camp, you will need to provide a Medications Administration Permissions form. If it is an emergency medication (Epi-pens, Inhalers), you will also need to provide an allergy plan form. Medications will be signed in and out at the front desk. More information regarding camp medications can be found here.
