Take a step into the hangar and see where aviation history meets modern engineering. Join EUREKA! for an exclusive tour of Spirit Engineering, where they are reviving the dream of affordable flight. Inspired by the sleek, all-metal monoplanes of the mid-20th century, Spirit is building the SE-1—an aircraft designed to be as accessible as a new car. Come see the craftsmanship and science behind these incredible machines!

Smithsonian "Americans" Exhibit in Meeker to celebrate America’s 250th

Join EUREKA! for a day of history, science, and community exploration as we head to Meeker, CO! The highlight of our trip is a visit to the White River Museum to experience the prestigious Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibit, "Americans." This powerful exhibit explores how American Indian images, names, and stories are deeply woven into everyday American history and contemporary culture.
Beyond the exhibit, we'll dive into local fire science with the National Forest Service and enjoy a lunch steeped in local history. Space is limited, so reserve your spot today!

Montrose Day Out: Ute Ethnobotany & Georgia O'Keefee

Spend a day exploring the rich cultural tapestry and art of Montrose!
We will start with an informative walk with an expert in Ute Ethnobotany and then after lunch we will view the fish sculpture by local Grand Valley artist Jeff Bates.
For the afternoon we will enjoy a movie hosted by the Montrose Center for Arts. The Western Slope premier of Georgia O’Keeffe: the Brightness of Light, a feature documentary about the life and art of an American icon.

Explorers: Grand Mesa Flowers & Forest Bathing
July 29th, 9:00am- 2:30pm
$25 members/ $35 non-members
Escape to the top of the world for a day of natural discovery and relaxation! Explorers will head up to the beautiful Grand Mesa to immerse themselves in nature. We’ll cruise the top of the Mesa to spot and identify vibrant summer wildflowers—making a special stop to explore a flower field up close.
Afterward, we’ll practice the art of "Forest Bathing," a mindful way to connect with the forest through our senses, complete with some relaxing tea and snacks. We'll wrap up our mountain adventure with a scenic outdoor lunch before heading back down the mountain. It’s the perfect summer day of science, fresh air, and exploration!

August 27th, 7:30pm- 9:30pm

Join scorpion aficionado Mike Perry for a fascinating look into the secretive world of these incredible nocturnal arachnids! The evening kicks off with an introduction to scorpion behavior and biology, followed by a short night walk to spot them in the wild. Thanks to their natural fluorescence, these critters glow an eerie, bright neon green under UV light—and we'll be tracking them down using special ultraviolet flashlights!

New for 2026! For all overnight trips, EUREKA! is utilizing a lottery system. This allows for equity in the registration process.
Use this form to enter into a lottery for any of the six EUREKA! Explorations Overnight trips for 2026. The lottery is open from January 12-21, 2026
Lottery preference is not determined by the time that you fill out this form as long as it is submitted by midnight on January 21.

For trips requiring airfare, we’ll provide a recommended flight itinerary and a ticket purchasing event at EUREKA! Participants on international trips are required to have travel insurance.
Please note that meal costs are not included unless specified.
Refunds for Explorations trip reservations cancelled within two months of trip date are subject to non-refundable trip fees (such as tickets and reservations paid by EUREKA!) and standard processing fees that will be deducted from registration refund. Cancellations within one month of trip date are non-refundable.
If EUREKA! must cancel a trip, full refunds will be processed.
