Our purpose is to nurture curious, creative, and compassionate life-long learners through a STEAM-rich, play-based curriculum with a special focus on river and water education. We are committed to creating an engaging and inclusive learning environment that cultivates a strong sense of belonging and a foundation for stewardship.
By empowering young minds to explore and connect with the natural world, we help children grow into capable problem-solvers, active learners, and responsible caretakers of their environment.
At STREAM Preschool, we believe that children are natural explorers brimming with curiosity about the world around them. Our philosophy is rooted in honoring this innate curiosity through meaningful, play-based learning experiences that integrate STEAM principles—Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math—alongside a vital emphasis on rivers and water education.
We view the early years as a critical time for cultivating wonder, creativity, and a sense of purpose and belonging. Play-based activities like designing experiments, building structures, exploring artistic expression, and investigating our community, help children gain academic knowledge, practical life skills, and a sense of stewardship for the Earth. These experiences nurture competent, confident, and connected learners.
Recognizing that every child is unique, we embrace individualized learning and prioritize social-emotional development. We strive to create a warm, inclusive environment where children feel safe, seen, and celebrated—building positive relationships with peers and adults alike.
STREAM is powered by the EUREKA! McConnell Science Museum, so the incorporation of STEAM content within our curriculum is a priority. We believe STEAM is a powerful pathway to the future through promotion of critical thinking and awareness of the sensitive environment we inhabit.
STREAM Preschool will be housed at the new Confluence Center of Colorado, uniquely situated at the confluence of the Colorado and Gunnison Rivers. This dynamic hub brings together mission-driven nonprofits working at the intersection of land and water science, education, agriculture, and environmental stewardship. Surrounded by this rich network and natural setting, we will immerse children in meaningful, play-based learning through projects—regularly observing the nearby river ecosystem to learn and connect with the natural world firsthand. The Confluence Center is currently under construction, and anticipated to be completed by September 2025, with STREAM Preschool opening on October 14, 2025.

2025-2026 Handbook (English)
Monthly sliding scale tuition is based on household income. Your tuition will be the amount listed at the bottom if your annual household income is at or below the matching income tier. For example, if you have a 3 year old and are a family of 4 with an annual household income of $100,000, you would qualify for Tier 3 tuition rates. We understand each family may have unique situations, so please email stream@eurekasciencemuseum.org to discuss hardships regarding tuition amounts.
Students in the 3-4 classroom will have a birthday between September 1, 2021 - October 14, 2022.
STREAM is a Universal PreK (UPK) provider, and any preschool student, in their year before kindergarten, can participate. Families that participate in this free program will be given a discount on tuition, and your participation unlocks additional funding for our school. Applications to participate in the free UPK program can be found here. Lottery priority (see Application Process below) will be given to families who are willing to participate in UPK.
Tuition will be waived for students who qualify for full 30 hours of UPK (low income + ELL/IEP/Foster Care/Homelessness) or CCCAP.
To qualify for UPK, a students birthday must be between September 1, 2020 - August 31, 2021.
STREAM will run at a slightly reduced capacity during summer months. Summer participation (aligned with D51 schedule) is optional and charged as a separate rate, indicated in the above chart. Hours are from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
*Please note: Summer Tuition is charged by week to allow more flexibility during the summer months.

STREAM Preschool accepts applications on a rolling basis as space allows, and we welcome mission-aligned families to apply at any time. To be considered in our priority enrollment window, families must attend an information session and submit their application by June 27, 2025.
Priority placement will first be offered to children of EUREKA! and Confluence Center staff, followed by District 51 staff, with those placements finalized by July 14.
General enrollment begins July 15, and families who have submitted applications by the June 27 deadline will receive notification of their enrollment status by August 1.
